NTA NEET UG Exam 2026 Latest Update: Amid the ongoing controversy over Re-NEET 2026 and alleged paper leaks, Kerala Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan clarified that the state government will not conduct the NEET examination, as it is a national-level entrance test managed centrally.

Kerala CM VD Satheesan Says NEET Is a National-Level Examination

Speaking to the media, Satheesan said Kerala has no role in conducting NEET. “We will not conduct the NEET examination. NEET is held at the national level. We will check it and send proposals,” he stated. His remarks come amid increasing demands for reforms and transparency in the exam process.

Dharmendra Pradhan Addresses Re-NEET 2026 Controversy

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan addressed the press on May 15 regarding Re-NEET 2026 and the reported paper leak issue. He admitted there were lapses in the examination process but assured students that reforms would be introduced to strengthen the system. He also ruled out replacing the National Testing Agency (NTA).

CBI Investigating NEET Paper Leak Allegations

Pradhan confirmed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing the paper leak allegations. He said miscreants attempt new methods every year to access exam papers illegally and assured that strict action would be taken against those involved.

Major Announcements for NEET UG 2026

The minister announced several updates for NEET UG 2026. Students will get one week to select exam centres, admit cards will be issued by June 14, 2026, and no application fee will be charged. Candidates affected by the leaked exam will also receive refunds.

NEET Exam Timing and Yoga Day Clarification

Pradhan clarified that International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21 would not affect NEET arrangements, as Yoga Day events are held in the morning while the exam will take place from 2 PM to 5:15 PM.

NEET UG 2027 to Be Conducted in CBT Mode

The Education Minister also announced that NEET UG 2027 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode to improve transparency and security.

The latest announcements signal major reforms in the NEET examination system amid rising concerns over fairness, security, and examination management.
