The State Bank of India (SBI) has started the recruitment process for 7,680 Junior Associate posts in its clerical cadre. The online application window opened on August 11, 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications until August 31.
SBI has also notified 1,444 backlog vacancies in addition to the regular posts. The Preliminary examination is expected to be conducted in September, while the Main examination is tentatively scheduled for November 2026.

Candidates can apply for the SBI Junior Associate recruitment from August 11 to August 31, 2026. The Preliminary examination is likely to be held in September, followed by the Main examination in November. Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one State or Union Territory and must meet the local language requirement applicable to their selected region.
What Is The SBI Clerk 2026 Application Fee?
General, OBC and EWS candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 750. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and eligible Disabled Ex-Servicemen categories are exempt from paying the application fee.
Who Is Eligible For SBI Junior Associate Recruitment?
Candidates must be between 20 and 28 years of age as on April 1, 2026. Applicable relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to eligible reserved categories according to SBI rules. Applicants must hold a graduation degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
Students appearing in the final year of graduation can also apply. However, selected candidates will have to produce proof of passing their degree by December 31, 2026.
What Is The SBI Clerk 2026 Selection Process?
The recruitment process will consist of two stages: Preliminary Examination and Main Examination. Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary examination will be eligible to appear for the Main examination. Provisional selection will be based on performance in the Main examination, subject to fulfilment of all eligibility requirements. Candidates will also have to qualify in the local language test wherever applicable.
Will SBI Maintain A Wait List?
Yes. SBI will maintain a wait list of up to 50 per cent of the vacancies. The wait list will remain valid for one year from the date on which the final result is declared. Eligible candidates are advised to complete their applications before the August 31 deadline and regularly check SBI’s official careers portal for further recruitment updates.
