What Is The Significance Of Putrada Ekadashi?
Putrada Ekadashi is traditionally associated with prayers for children and family prosperity. Devotees believe that observing the vrat with faith and devotion can help fulfil heartfelt wishes and bring divine blessings. The day is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and devotees also worship Goddess Lakshmi. Religious traditions associate the observance with spiritual purification, devotion and the pursuit of Moksha.
How To Perform Putrada Ekadashi Puja?
Devotees can begin the observance by taking a sankalp for the Ekadashi fast. They traditionally wake up early, preferably during Brahma Muhurat, take a bath and clean the place of worship.
An idol or image of Lord Vishnu is placed at the puja area and a diya is lit. Devotees may offer flowers, sandalwood paste, Tulsi leaves and fruits or other sattvic prasad.

Devotees traditionally avoid tamasic foods during the vrat. Rice and grains are generally avoided, along with onion and garlic. Some devotees observe a Nirjala fast without water, while others consume water, fruits or permitted vrat food according to their traditions and personal practice. The fast is generally concluded during the prescribed Parana period on Dwadashi.
