The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 on March 6, bringing an end to months of anticipation among aspirants across the country. The highly competitive examination determines recruitment for prestigious services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and other central services.
This year, a total of 958 candidates have qualified for 1,087 vacancies across various services. The final merit list was prepared based on candidates’ performance in the written mains examination conducted in August 2025 and the personality test held between December 2025 and February 2026.

Among the successful candidates, Anuj Agnihotri secured the All India Rank (AIR) 1, followed by Rajeshwari Suve M at AIR 2 and Akansh Dhull at AIR 3.
Who is UPSC Topper 2025 Anuj Agnihotri?
Anuj Agnihotri, who secured the top rank in UPSC CSE 2025, comes from Rawatbhata in Rajasthan, a town known for its nuclear power facilities. His achievement has drawn national attention as he transitioned from a medical background to civil services.
Agnihotri’s father works at the Nuclear Power Plant in Rawatbhata. He completed his schooling in Rajasthan and later moved to Jodhpur to pursue higher education.
He graduated with an MBBS degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur in 2023. Despite having a promising career in medicine, he decided to shift his focus to public administration and began preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
His journey reflects determination and a strong commitment to serving the country through administrative leadership.
Who is UPSC AIR 2 Rajeshwari Suve M?
Rajeshwari Suve M secured All India Rank 2 in the UPSC CSE 2025 final result. She belongs to Vadipatti in the Madurai district of Tamil Nadu and grew up in a family that strongly valued education.
Her father runs a business, while her mother works as an Associate Professor in a government institution. This academic environment at home played an important role in shaping her interest in learning and public service.
For the civil services examination, Rajeshwari chose Sociology as her optional subject, which helped her develop a deeper understanding of social structures and governance issues.
Her journey to success required years of perseverance. She appeared in the Civil Services Preliminary Examination five times, demonstrating determination and dedication throughout her preparation. She had also appeared for the Indian Forest Service examination earlier.
Who is UPSC AIR 3 Akansh Dhull?
Akansh Dhull secured All India Rank 3 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025. He completed his graduation in B.Com (Hons.) from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), New Delhi, one of India’s top commerce institutions.
Dhull was born in Rohtak, Haryana, and later moved with his family to Panchkula. He completed his schooling in Chandigarh before moving to Delhi for higher education.
He began preparing for the civil services examination in 2021. In an earlier attempt in CSE 2023, he secured Rank 342. However, he continued his preparation with dedication and improved his performance to secure AIR 3 in 2025.
During a mock interview, Dhull explained his motivation for choosing civil services over other career options.
“My parents nudged me to do this, and I was good in academics, so I thought it could be a good opportunity for me to try,” he said, adding that he comes from Haryana, and he has firsthand seen how civil services can impact the lives of people.
UPSC CSE 2025 Category-Wise Qualified Candidates
According to UPSC data, candidates from different categories qualified for the final list. Out of the total 958 successful candidates, 317 belong to the general category.
In addition, 104 candidates from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category qualified for the exam. Meanwhile, 306 candidates from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category and 73 candidates from the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category also made it to the final list.
The UPSC Civil Services Examination remains one of the most competitive exams in India, with lakhs of candidates appearing every year, but only a few hundred making it to the final merit list.
