Chinese Zodiac 2026: The Lunar New Year celebrations across the globe symbolize the collective desire for good luck, prosperity, and positive energy. Whether it is special food or cultural traditions, people across the world usher in the Lunar New Year with hopes of happiness and success.

In the year 2026, the Lunar New Year falls on February 17, marking the beginning of the Year of the Horse. With the approaching new year, many people are seeking the help of Chinese astrology to know what the future holds.

Basics of the Chinese Zodiac System

The Chinese zodiac cycle consists of twelve years, symbolized by twelve animals in a cycle that begins with the Rat and ends with the Pig. The zodiac sign of a person depends on the year of his or her birth. Individuals born on or after the first day of the Lunar New Year in 2026 belong to the Horse sign.

Apart from the animals that symbolize each year, there is another cycle that is based on the heavenly stems and earthly branches.

Why 2026 Is Known as the Year of the Fire Horse

Every year, a pair of heavenly stems is matched with a pair of earthly branches. In 2026, the stem symbolizes the large sun, and the branch symbolizes the Horse, who produces the Fire Horse year.

According to Hong Kong-based feng shui consultant Thierry Chow, the stem and the Horse are fire elements, making 2026 one of the hottest fire years.

Fire Energy and Its Influence in 2026

As Chow, industries that are associated with fire energy such as technology, energy production, arts, fashion, and cooking are expected to receive more attention this year. She also explains that fire energy can affect weather and emotions, resulting in more heat-related problems and people with hot tempers.

But she also explains that fire energy can be good for people who have little fire in their personal elements, especially people born in autumn and winter.

Importance of Element Balance in Feng Shui

In feng shui, each person has a combination of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth elements. Chow states that feng shui is all about balance and not about good and bad elements. She thinks that people can supplement what they lack in life by their own efforts.

Understanding Tai Sui the Grand Duke of Jupiter

Tai Sui, or the Grand Duke of Jupiter, is made up of sixty heavenly deities that rule over a sixty-year cycle. Tai Sui was associated with the planet Jupiter by ancient astrologers because of its twelve-year cycle around the sun.
