New Delhi: Delhi’s Minister for Home, Power, Education, and Urban Development, Ashish Sood, today laid the foundation for a series of developmental initiatives across his Janakpuri constituency, encompassing Virender Nagar, Chanakya Place, and Mahavir Enclave Part-2. These projects include the installation of new pipelines for roads, sewerage systems, and clean drinking water. Sood directed Delhi Jal Board officials to complete these works within a span of two to six months.
Commencing the initiatives in Virender Nagar, Sood inaugurated infrastructure projects involving road construction, sewer installation, and water pipelines in Lanes 1, 2, and 5. He emphasized the importance of maintaining separate pipelines for water and sewer lines. Additionally, he instructed authorities to ensure proper drainage in localities lacking sewer systems, particularly in preparation for the upcoming monsoon season.
In response to complaints regarding locked and ill-maintained public toilets near Bharti College and BF Block, Sood promised prompt redressal. He further announced that by the close of 2025, every lane in Virender Nagar would be equipped with sewer infrastructure.
At 30-Foota Road in Chanakya Place, the Minister laid the groundwork for additional sewer and road development projects. He issued directives to expedite the construction of a 120-foot stretch in ‘Azad Juice Wali Gali’ and also ordered the immediate rectification of dangling electric wires to prevent potential hazards during the summer months.
In B Block, Lane 31 of Mahavir Enclave Part-2, Sood flagged off work on water and sewer pipelines, setting a strict deadline of June 30 for its completion. He reassured residents that all lanes in the locality would soon be outfitted with comprehensive infrastructure.
Reiterating his dedication to inclusive growth aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sood vowed to transform Janakpuri into a benchmark of urban development in Delhi.
Throughout his visit, the Minister engaged with residents and issued real-time directives to address long-pending issues such as sewer clogs, contaminated tap water, malfunctioning streetlights, and neglected green spaces. Stressing a proactive approach over finger-pointing, he declared, “As your elected MLA and Cabinet Minister, I consider it my duty to address every concern on priority. Our government, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, is wholly committed to ensuring tangible results on the ground.”
