Chandigrah: Haryana’s Karnal is enveloped in grief following the reports of killing of young officer of the Indian NavyLieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was among the victims who lost their lives in Pahalgam terror attack.
The tragic incident has left his family and friends in shock as the Karnal city mourns the loss of a brilliant officer just a week after his marriage.
Narwal was on leave and he was on honeymoon trip to Kashmir.
As per the information from his family Narwal ( 26) was posted in Kochi and he had travelled to Kashmir for a short vacation after his marriage with Himanshi on April 16 and the wedding reception was held on April 19. They had gone to Kashmir on April 21. However, Hinsmashi survived the incident as the terrorists did not target her.
He had joined the Indian Navy two years ago.
Soon afer the news of his death reached tl the town the relatices and neighbours reached to his residence to express their condolences. Even the video of Himnashi got viral on social media in which was seen explaining how the terrorist fired a bullet at Vinay after asking his identity and religion.
“I was eating bhel puri with my husband. A man came and said, ‘This is not Muslim,’ and then shot him.”, she said in the video.
Vinay’s family members have left for Kashmir to take his body and the reports suggest that his body was likely to reach Karnal by Wednesday evening.
Haryana chief minister Nayab Saini has expressed his deep condolences, saying, “My heartfelt sympathies are with those who have lost their loved ones in the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured. Every possible assistance is being provided to those affected. The perpetrators of this cowardly and despicable act will face strict action”.
