Veteran Australian cricketer Alyssa Healy received a fitting farewell as Australia beat India comfortably in the one-off Test at the Western Australian Cricket Association in Perth. Following the match, teammates carried the keeper-batter on their shoulders as Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner took the initiative to pay tribute to the champion cricketer.

India manage to set only 25 for Australia to win

The Women in Blue followed their poor batting performance in the first innings with another lacklustre one in the second to be bowled out for 149. The visitors began Day 3 at 105/6, needing 20 more runs to make Australia bat again. Debutant Pratika Rawal scored a dogged half-century, hitting eight boundaries in her 137-ball 63. All-rounder Sneh Rana was the only other Indian batter with a notable contribution, chipping in with 30 runs as she stitched a 50-run stand with Rawal. Lucy Hamilton added three more wickets to her tally after taking as many in the first innings. Annabel Sutherland, Ashleigh Gardner and Alana King picked up two apiece, while Darcie Brown snared one.

Later, Georgia Voll and Phoebe Litchfield came out and raced to the target only in 4.3 overs as the former smacked three consecutive boundaries to get the job done. Although Healy didn’t get to bat in Australia’s second innings, she was ecstatic as the hosts completed a comprehensive win.

At the post-game presentation, Healy thanked the Indian team for coming down here and giving them an excellent fight, especially in the T20 leg and expects the two sides to lock horns in the final of the upcoming T20 World Cup. The Queenslander remarked:
