Last Updated: October 13, 2025 02:58:17 IST

Oct 13 (Reuters) – Australian shares are likely to open lower on Monday owing to a potential fall in energy and mining stocks due to lower underlying commodity prices, while local investors look ahead to corporate quarterly production figures due later this week. The local share price index futures fell 0.9%, a 62.3-point discount to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index close. The benchmark closed 0.1% down on Friday. New Zealand's benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index fell 0.8% to 13,357.84 points by 2122 GMT. (Reporting by Shivangi Lahiri in Bengaluru; editing by Diane Craft)
