An Iran backed miltant group, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI) has offered a $10 massive bounty for anyone who kills US President Donald Trump. {reviously Trump stated that any Iran-backed group that makes such threats will face ‘complete decimation’ and be ‘wiped off the map’.

This morning, multiple explosions were heard in Iran’s Sulaimaniyah city in the Kurds region, according to the Kurdish media. But as tensions persist between Iran and the US, a militant group backed by the former has called for his killing.

Donald Trump Latest News:  Iraqi Militant Group Offers Shocking $10 Million Bounty Over Donald Trump 

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a militant group issued a statement this morning announcing a $10 Million bounty for anyone who kills US President Donald Trump.  The strongly worded statement called for individuals, groups and organisations to either carry out or facilitate the assassination. 

“Whoever kills the criminal Trump, or whoever eliminates him personally, directs others to do so, or facilitates it as an individual, group, organisation or institution”, the statement reads. The group, which enjoys Iran’s backing, has also claimed that Trump will “never enjoy the taste of safety”.  Over the course of the ongoing war, the US President has received multiple such threats. 

What is Islamic Resistance in Iraq? 

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI) is an informal umbrella network of Iran-backed Shia Islamist militia factions. The group allegedly operates in Iraq and Syria and is a part of the current Iranian regime’s Axis of Resistance.  

Donald Trump Latest News: Why Does the Islamic Resistance in Iraq Want to Kill Donald Trump? 

Since Iraq is not involved in the war, many have started to wonder about why the militant group wants to kill Donald Trump. The group has cited retribution as the main motive in its statement. In its statement, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq made references to Trump’s  ‘audacious and offensive’ statements about commanders who got killed while fighting the ISIS. 

It also implied that Trump is directly responsible for the deaths of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and Abu-Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy head of Iraq’s Hashd al-Shaabi or Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF). 

Donald Trump Latest News: Donald Trump’s Response to Threat

President Trump has not issued any direct response to the threat made by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq. However, he previously stated that any Iran-backed group  that makes such threats will face ‘complete decimation’ and be ‘wiped off the map’.
