Donald Trump Latest News Today: Former US President Joe Biden delivered one of his sharpest political speeches since leaving office, accusing President Donald Trump of corruption, narcissism and incompetence during a Democratic Party fundraiser in Maryland. Biden criticised Trump’s renovation projects, questioned his priorities and attacked his stance on those involved in the January 6 Capitol riot.

The remarks marked a significant escalation in Biden’s criticism of Trump as political tensions continue to dominate the US public debate.

Donald Trump Latest News Today: What Did Joe Biden Say About Donald Trump?

During his address, Biden mocked several of Trump’s renovation projects at the White House and other federal properties, suggesting they reflected personal ambition rather than public service.

He said, “It’s not just his vanity projects, tearing down the East Wing of the White House, making room for his ballroom, putting his name on the Kennedy Centre, building an arch in his own honour, even hiring his own pool guy to fix the reflecting pool. Woah! What a loser,”

Biden then added, “The reflecting pool reflects something even worse than the narcissism and incompetence at the core of this administration.”

He continued, “It’s the corruption, the corruption, the brazen, blatant corruption. Corruption on a scale never seen before in American history in any administration.”

Donald Trump Latest News Today: Why Did Biden Mention the January 6 Capitol Riot?

Biden also criticised Trump’s reported support for compensating people involved in the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol.

He told supporters, “What makes me angry is that Trump wants to give taxpayers’ money, your money, to the January 6th insurrectionists. That’s what he wants to do,”

He added, “These people don’t deserve to be compensated. They deserve to be put in jail for a long, long, long time.”

Donald Trump Latest News Today: Why Are Trump’s White House Projects Facing Scrutiny?

Trump has repeatedly defended renovation projects at the White House and other federal landmarks, saying they are designed to improve the appearance of public buildings and historic sites.

His plans include constructing a new ballroom in the East Wing of the White House and carrying out renovations at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

However, critics have questioned the cost and necessity of these projects, particularly as the administration has promoted efforts to reduce government spending and eliminate waste.

Donald Trump Latest News Today: What Is the Controversy Over the Reflecting Pool?

Earlier this year, Trump described the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool as “filthy” and “leaking like a sieve,” saying repairs would cost about $2 million.

However, federal contract records reviewed by USA TODAY showed that approximately $8.5 million had already been allocated for the renovation before Trump’s public announcement.

The discrepancy has fuelled criticism from opponents over transparency and government spending.

Donald Trump Latest News Today: What is Happening at the Kennedy Centre?

The Trump administration has also faced legal and political questions over changes at the Kennedy Centre and plans linked to the White House renovation.

Last week, a federal judge asked the Kennedy Centre to explain why its main entrance had been covered with scaffolding and a tarp after Trump’s name was removed from the building.

The issue has become another point of political disagreement between Trump’s supporters and critics.

Donald Trump Latest News Today: What Happens Next?

Biden’s latest remarks signal a more aggressive approach towards challenging Trump’s policies and leadership as political tensions continue in Washington. With both leaders remaining central figures in American politics, their public exchanges are expected to remain a major focus in the months ahead.
