Donald Trump Latest News: For years, the Queens house linked to Donald Trump’s earliest memories looked far removed from the image of luxury real estate associated with the US president. Now, the Tudor-style property has undergone a striking transformation and has changed hands again, selling for $1.93 million after an extensive renovation.

The house in Jamaica Estates, Queens, where Trump lived with his family until he was four, was built by his father, real estate developer Fred Trump, in 1940. The property had spent years moving between owners before falling into serious disrepair. Developer Tommy Lin bought it for $835,000 and spent about $500,000 and eight months rebuilding its interior.

The latest sale was recorded on real estate websites Friday after the buyer and seller completed a contract in July. The buyer’s identity has not been disclosed.

Donald Trump Latest News: From Trump Family Home To Neglected Property

Trump spent only the first four years of his life at the Jamaica Estates residence before his family moved to a larger house in the same neighborhood.

Although the home later became associated with one of America’s most recognizable political figures, its condition deteriorated dramatically over the years.

The five-bedroom property eventually suffered water damage after a burst pipe. Mold spread through parts of the house, while feral cats reportedly took shelter inside after the property remained vacant for an extended period. Reports from the renovation period described the house as being in extremely poor condition.

That condition helped push the property’s price down considerably before Lin bought it.

Lin purchased the property in 2025 for $835,000 and then launched an eight-month renovation project.

Rather than simply making cosmetic changes, the developer carried out a major overhaul of the home. The renovation addressed the damage inside while preserving the property’s historic exterior.

The updated house now features a modern chef’s kitchen, herringbone wood flooring and spa-style bathrooms. The property retains the Tudor-style exterior that dates back to Fred Trump’s original construction.

The renovation also helped reposition the property as a luxury home rather than simply a piece of presidential memorabilia.

Donald Trump Latest News: Trump Connection Has Added A Unique Value

The Queens house has attracted attention because of its connection to Trump’s childhood, but the property has had a particularly unusual journey in the real estate market.

It sold for $2.14 million in 2017, only months after Trump became president, according to Zillow. The property was then briefly operated as an Airbnb by an entity called Trump Birth Home LLC.

The short-lived rental reportedly featured Trump-themed items, including a life-sized cardboard cutout, copies of his book The Art of the Deal and a framed People magazine cover featuring Trump.

The property later returned to the sales market in 2019 with an asking price of $2.9 million, but it failed to find a buyer. It eventually remained neglected until Lin acquired it.

Donald Trump Latest News: A Property That Keeps Returning To The Spotlight

The house’s latest sale shows how strongly its connection to Trump’s early life continues to draw attention.

Before the latest transaction, the renovated property had been marketed for around $2.3 million. It was subsequently relisted at lower prices before going under contract. Realtor.com and Mansion Global reported earlier this year that the property had attracted buyers because of its historical connection, location and extensive renovation.

The final $1.93 million sale price is significantly higher than the $835,000 Lin paid before beginning the renovation, although his approximately $500,000 renovation investment substantially changed the property’s value and condition.

Donald Trump Latest News: Trump And Real Estate Have Always Been Closely Linked

The sale also adds another chapter to the real estate story surrounding Trump.

Before entering politics, Trump built his public profile largely through property development and branding. His name became closely associated with luxury buildings, including Trump Tower in Manhattan.

Today, his approach to property remains visible at the White House, where his administration has overseen major changes to the presidential residence, including plans and construction related to a large ballroom and extensive interior alterations.

But unlike those modern projects, the Queens house represents a much earlier chapter of Trump’s life — a home he left decades before becoming a real estate celebrity, television personality and US president.

The latest sale means another owner will now live in a property that combines Queens real estate, presidential history and one of the more unusual renovation stories in Trump’s property legacy.
