Donald Trump Latest News: Amid ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, US President Donald Trump issued a strong warning on Thursday, saying the conflict could intensify if both sides fail to reach a final agreement. He said that bigger, better and stronger military action could begin if a real agreement is not achieved. His statement came shortly after Iran agreed to a temporary two week ceasefire in the region.

Trump Says US Forces Will Stay Until Final Agreement

The US President made it clear that American military forces will continue to remain deployed in and around Iran until a final agreement is reached and fully followed.

In a post on Truth Social, he wrote, “All U.S. Ships, Aircraft, and Military Personnel, with additional Ammunition, Weaponry, and anything else that is appropriate and necessary for the lethal prosecution and destruction of an already substantially degraded Enemy, will remain in place in, and around, Iran, until such time as the REAL AGREEMENT reached is fully complied with.” He further warned, “If for any reason it is not, which is highly unlikely, then the “Shootin’ Starts,” bigger, and better, and stronger than anyone has ever seen before,”

US Iran Ceasefire Agreement and Key Conditions Explained

Just a day before this statement, Iran agreed to a two week ceasefire after tensions had sharply increased in the Middle East. Earlier, Trump had announced that the US would pause military strikes for two weeks, calling it a “double sided ceasefire”. He added that the agreement would depend on the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil routes. He also stressed, “It was agreed, a long time ago, and despite all of the fake rhetoric to the contrary – NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS and, the Strait of Hormuz WILL BE OPEN & SAFE.”

Iran Calls Ceasefire Victory US Claims Tehran Sought Truce

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council described the ceasefire as a major victory. According to reports, Iran claimed that the US accepted key conditions including control over the Strait of Hormuz, enrichment rights, and removal of sanctions.

The council stated, “Iran achieved a historic victory by forcing the criminal US to accept its 10 point plan. The US has accepted Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz, enrichment rights, and removal of all sanctions,”

It also announced that talks would begin in Islamabad and said, “These negotiations will begin in Islamabad with complete distrust of the American side, and Iran will allocate two weeks for these negotiations. This time can be extended by agreement of the parties. It is necessary to maintain complete national unity during this period and to continue the celebrations of victory with strength..”

However, the US presented a very different view. US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth claimed that Iran had requested the ceasefire. He said, “Operation Epic Fury was a historic and overwhelming victory on the battlefield. Iran begged for this ceasefire, and we all know it.” He further added that the US had weakened Iran’s military capabilities, including its missile systems and naval strength.

Israel Hezbollah Conflict Continues Amid Ceasefire

Even as the US Iran ceasefire came into effect, tensions continued in the region. Israel carried out strikes on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon after the group launched rockets into Israeli territory. Israel said its operations were aimed at destroying Hezbollah’s military infrastructure and pushing fighters away from the border. Officials also indicated that these strikes would continue despite the ceasefire with Iran.

Strait of Hormuz Situation Raises Global Concerns

Following Israeli strikes, Iran reportedly shut the Strait of Hormuz again, raising concerns about global oil supply. The waterway is one of the most critical routes for oil transportation worldwide. Overall, the situation in the Middle East remains tense and uncertain. While a temporary ceasefire is in place, strong statements from both sides and ongoing regional conflicts suggest that stability is still far from certain.
