The epicentre was located around 70 miles east of Akyab (Sittwe) Myanmar, as per the reports by, European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 kilometres, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) confirmed.
regions in West Bengal, like Kolkata & across several parts felt an earthquake. Residents of West Bengal immediately reported about mild shaking of buildings and household items, leading to brief panic in some areas. However, there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
Bangladesh also experienced an earthquake in various parts of Bangladesh, including Dhaka. People in Dhaka and nearby regions experienced noticeable earthquakes, hence they took many step for outdoors as a precaution.
As per the reports by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the earthquake was also experienced by Myanmar as the earthquake’s epicentre was located around 70 miles east of Akyab (Sittwe) in Myanmar. The earthquake took place at a shallow depth of 10 kilometres, as confirmed by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), which increased the intensity of surface shaking.
