Minneapolis Shooting: Federal agents shot another man in Minneapolis as part of a large immigration enforcement operation. This event added to the renewed controversy between city and federal officials. A series of violent crimes in the city has drawn protests and political fallout.
On January 24, 2026, in Minneapolis, a person was allegedly shot by federal agents in an immigration enforcement effort. Although information about the condition of the injured person and events surrounding the incident continues to emerge, it is obvious that law enforcement agents were engaged in an active event in Minneapolis.

In response to this shooting, the city has acknowledged the occurrence, claiming efforts are in action to understand exactly how the shooting happened at the site near Minneapolis’ South district, Jacob Frey, alongside Minnesota Police, llamados for calmness while awaiting further information regarding the shooting in Minneapolis.
The shooting was heavily criticized by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, with a strong connection drawn to the federal immigration clampdown and its perils. Walz asked federal authorities in the USA to stop what he termed as unsafe activity and withdraw officers from his state.
In the area, there have been protests, starting from January when an ICE agent killed Renée Good, aged 37, resulting in massive demonstrations. Despite the cold, thousands demonstrated against the crackdown, calling for federal law enforcers to get out of the twin cities.

The people filled the downtown area to protest against the heightened immigrant detentions, and soon after, approximately 100 clergy who had arrived at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to peacefully protest against the immigrant deportation flights ended up in custody due to the police.
In January, there has also been a killing by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, whose confrontation with a 37-year-old Renée Good led to her death in south Minneapolis, eliciting anger from the public, as Renée, a US citizen, died from an encounter between federal agents and her vehicle.
