5 members of the same family in St Louis, southern Illinois after a shooting rampage that happened in 3 different locations – Samuel Gompers Homes, 39th Street and Summit Avenue and Jones Park. Two people also got injured due to the violent rampage.
One victim was fatally shot near North 39th Street and Summit Avenue, three others were killed at the Samuel Gompers Homes, and another victim succumbed to injuries at Jones Park.

Illinois Shooting Latest News: Who are the Suspects?
Two teenagers have been identified as suspects and detained by the Illinois State Police in connection with the shooting rampage. One suspect is 15 years old while the other is 16 years old.
The arrest happened at Frank Holten State Park in Eastern St Louis after the execution of a precision immobilization technique, or PIT maneuver, by state police officers on the vehicle driven by one of the suspects. According to cops, at least one of the suspects is connected to the victims. Further details about the teenagers, who are related have not been publicly disclosed.
Illinois Shooting Latest News: Investigation Update
Brendon Kelly, the director for the Illinois State Policy held a press conference and opened up about the case. “At least seven members of the targeted family were shot at multiple locations in the East St. Louis area, and as of right now, five victims have been confirmed deceased”, he shared.
Kelly also mentioned that the state police is now collaborating with the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office and will pursue charges against the suspects for further investigation. The joint probe will also focus on uncovering a clear motive. Kelly has reassured the people of St. Louis that there is no ongoing threat to the police.
