Indonesia Crash Latest News: Weddings are a joyful occasion. But this morning, 13 wedding guests returning home after a function in West Java’s Indramayu in Indonesia suffered tragic ends as their truck got crushed. Authorities have launched a probe into the accident. 

Indonesia Crash Latest News: What Happened in Java? 

A pickup truck in Indonesia’s Java unfortunately got crushed between two other trucks on a highway this morning. The guests were returning from a wedding function in Parean village. 

The crash happened on a busy highway near the Kiajaran Kulon village in Indramayu regency. So far, 13 casualties have been reported with 5 people getting injured.

Indonesia Crash Latest News: Who are the Victims? 

Details about the victims of the crash have not been disclosed. But it’s been confirmed that all those affected were wedding guests, traveling back from Parean. 

According to local reports, three people died instantly at the scene due to the massive impact. While the additional 10 victims tragically succumbed to their severe injuries while on the way to receive treatment. All of the injured are currently being treated at a local hospital. 

Indonesia Crash Latest News: Indonesian Authorities Response

The Indramayu Police Traffic Unit have launched an official probe into the accident. Local  traffic police chief Undang Syarif Hidayat spoke about the accident and said that it happened as the pickup truck was trying to make a U-turn on the crowded coastal highway in Indramayu, West Java. “The powerful collision hurled more than a dozen people from the pickup truck onto the highway,” Hidayat shared.

Indonesia Crash Latest News: Investigation Update 

Law enforcement authorites are now trying to probe the cause of the accident. The case is currently being treated like one of criminal negligence, which carries a prison sentnce up to 12 years in Indonesia.
