The Consulate General of Iran in Hyderabad said the situation in Iran is stable and fully under control. It assured that Indian citizens living in or visiting Iran are safe, according to an official statement.

The consulate said all security measures are in place to protect foreign nationals, including Indians, and there is no danger to their safety.

Right to Protest Under Iran’s Constitution

The statement referred to Article 27 of Iran’s Constitution, which allows citizens to assemble and protest peacefully. It said the current protests, mainly driven by economic difficulties, are a legitimate right of the people.

The consulate claimed that some foreign parties are trying to turn peaceful protests violent by politicising the situation. It accused them of “shedding crocodile tears for the Iranian nation” while pretending to support Iranians.

Media Accused of Spreading False Reports for Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khameini

According to the statement, affiliated media outlets have started a propaganda campaign by spreading false information. This includes reports claiming that Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khameini has left or plans to leave the country.

The consulate said similar baseless stories were spread by some media groups during the recent 12-day imposed war.

Claims About Supreme Leader Ali Khameini Rejected

The mission strongly denied reports suggesting that Iran’s Supreme Leader is preparing to leave the country. It called these claims “entirely false, baseless and fabricated” and said they have no connection to reality.

It added that such stories are being pushed by certain American and Israeli regime media outlets.

Iran Consulate Warning to Media on Ethical Reporting

The consulate said spreading unverified and disrespectful content goes against journalistic ethics and professionalism. While appreciating responsible Indian media, it urged journalists and editors to verify information through official and reliable sources before publishing sensitive news about Iran.

The statement ended by saying the mission remains available for clarification and authentic information. It also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and constructive engagement with Indian media.
