Tensions in the Middle East spilt into the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday after drones linked to Iran struck near Dubai International Airport, leaving four people injured.

Officials confirmed that the drones landed in areas close to the airport complex, raising concerns about security at one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs. Despite the incident, authorities said air traffic operations continued normally, and the airport remained open.

The injuries included one Indian national who suffered moderate wounds, while three other foreign nationals sustained minor injuries.

According to authorities, the injured individuals include two citizens of Ghana, one citizen of Bangladesh and one Indian national. Emergency teams responded quickly after the drones fell in the area.

The Dubai Media Office confirmed the details in a public statement.

“Authorities confirm that two drones fell in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport (DXB) a short while ago, resulting in minor injuries to two Ghanaian nationals and one Bangladeshi national, and moderate injuries to one Indian national. Air traffic is operating as normal,” the Dubai Media Office said in a statement on X.

Medical teams treated the injured individuals, and officials said none of the injuries was life-threatening.

Despite the security scare, officials said flight operations continued without disruption at Dubai International Airport.
