Iran-US-Israel War Today Update: Middle East Conflict Impacting Air Travel
The latest security scare comes against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran, which has heightened security concerns across the Middle East.
Since the conflict began last month, several cities in the region have witnessed missile and drone attacks, prompting authorities to strengthen air defence systems and tighten security around critical infrastructure.
Officials in the United Arab Emirates say the country has intercepted a large number of aerial threats since the war began. According to reports, the UAE has engaged around 1,600 drones and more than 300 missiles launched by Iran during the conflict.
The tensions have also led to repeated disruptions in aviation and shipping routes in the region.

In a further escalation, Iran reportedly warned people to leave several key ports in the UAE, including the Middle East’s busiest port. The warning marked the first time Iran extended its threat beyond US assets to locations in the Gulf region.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claimed in an interview that the United States carried out attacks on Iranian territory from two locations in the UAE, including Ras Al-Khaimah and another area close to Dubai.
These claims added to the already tense atmosphere in the region and increased concerns over potential retaliatory actions.

For now, officials continue to review the security situation before fully restoring operations, while airlines remain prepared for possible delays or diversions as tensions in the region persist.
