Iran-US Tensions: The Middle East has witnessed an escalation of tensions due to the increased military presence of the United States in the region, which has heightened fears of a conflict with Iran. This comes against the backdrop of turmoil in Iran, where thousands of people have reportedly died in protests, according to human rights organizations and the United Arab Emirates has made its position clear in the region.

What UAE Said About Military Action on Iran

The United Arab Emirates has clearly stated that it will not allow its territory, airspace or waters to be used for an attack on Iran. The UAE foreign ministry has reiterated that it will not support any hostile action in its airspace, on its land or in its territorial waters. This position of the UAE reflects its policy of remaining on the side lines as tensions escalate, while calling for diplomacy and restraint.

UAE Foreign Ministry Says ‘Won’t Allow Attacks on Iran’

Afra Al Hameli, who is in charge of strategic communications for the UAE, reiterated that Abu Dhabi values dialogue, de-escalation and sovereignty. She added that it is not permitted to provide logistical support for any military strike against Iran and this is happening amidst rumors of U.S. military operations and the UAE’s role as a stabilizing influence in a region fraught with geopolitical tensions.

In view of the increasing American military presence in the region, Iran’s most senior leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has reportedly relocated to an underground bunker in Tehran. According to sources familiar with the situation, the facility features a series of interconnecting tunnels and sophisticated defenses intended to protect Iran’s ruling elite in the event of a war. While Tehran maintains a focus on domestic security, the tone of caution is evident.

The UAE and Iran have a complex relationship that combines economic and political considerations while there have been renewed diplomatic ties and increasing trade, the UAE has made it clear that it will not permit its territory to be used as a launching pad for military strikes against Iran.
