It is a personal perspective… They haven’t seen anything with their own eyes, so it is not confirmed. But when you are sitting inside GHQ, you are not sitting in Quetta Cantonment, at some Frontier Corps check post, or somewhere in Waziristan. You are sitting inside Rawalpindi, inside the belly of the beast. You are sitting at the headquarters.

The journalist then made the claim that has triggered the latest controversy.
“Three senior GHQ-based officers have expressed this in different ways: that Imran Khan is no longer with us, and that is the reason why the Pakistan Army and the Army Chief are keeping him away from the rest of the country… This is serious. I hope it is not true. It is not confirmed yet…. Three senior military sources fear that Imran Khan is no longer with us. They haven’t seen anything with their own eyes, but they have heard things with their ears”
The wording is crucial.
The journalist described the information as a fear or belief among his sources, rather than confirmed evidence of Khan’s death.
Is There Any Proof That Imran Khan Has Died?
No verified proof has emerged so far.
The latest reports only establish that an unverified claim has circulated and that concerns about Khan’s access and health have intensified. Pakistan’s authorities have not confirmed that the former prime minister has died. PTI has also not provided independent evidence proving that Khan is dead.

In November 2025, speculation spread online that Khan had died in Adiala Jail. The rumours intensified after his sisters said they were struggling to meet him.

After the meeting, she said Khan was physically well but alleged that he was being mentally tortured.

The Pakistani PM’s advisor, Rana Sanaullah, must know that when people come out in such numbers, no one will get a chance to control them, nor will they be able to. I see a lot of anger among the young people, and they will come out in huge numbers. Our preparations are firm”
Afridi has also backed the PTI’s September 27 march towards Islamabad.
He said, “On September 27, Pakistan will see how many people come out and with what passion and determination. Pakistan’s youth are fed up. They are angry with the system and with all the institutions… Pakistan is in a terrible state, but their priority is to keep Imran Khan in isolation”
Business Recorder reported that Afridi has also threatened a sit-in outside the Supreme Court if access to Khan remains blocked.
The PTI has said it could escalate protests before the September 27 march if its demands are not met.
