Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) has temporarily suspended all flight operations until further notice, following precautionary safety measures after multiple waves of Iranian attacks across the Middle East. Passengers are strongly advised to avoid traveling to the airport and instead contact their respective airlines for the latest updates, rescheduling, or cancellations.

Similar precautionary measures were implemented across other UAE airports. Dubai Airports announced a suspension of all operations until further notice, while Etihad Airways confirmed flights will remain suspended until 2 PM tomorrow. UAE-based carriers such as Emirates and Air Arabia also temporarily halted operations, leading to massive disruptions for international travelers passing through the region.
Passengers scheduled to travel through SHJ or other UAE airports are urged to:
“The safety of passengers remains our top priority. We are closely coordinating with airlines and authorities to manage the situation and reduce disruption wherever possible,” a spokesperson for Sharjah International Airport said.
The UAE Ministry of Defence released images of missile fragments that fell in several areas of Abu Dhabi, while some debris also landed in Dubai. Fortunately, authorities reported no injuries from debris in these locations. These incidents highlight the risks that prompted airspace closures and flight suspensions across the UAE.
Regional airlines and airports continue to monitor the situation closely, coordinating with civil aviation authorities to resume operations as soon as it is safe. Meanwhile, passengers are encouraged to remain patient and follow official updates to avoid unnecessary travel risks.
The temporary closure of Sharjah International Airport and other UAE airspace reflects the ongoing security concerns in the region, as well as the priority given to civilian safety during periods of heightened military activity.
