Israel Elections: Ezur Lahak, the former Prime Minister of Israel from 1999 to 2001 has leveled a shocking accusation against the country’s incumbent leader Benjamin Netanyahu. According to him, Netanyahu is trying to sow the seeds of a war to allegedly get the elections postponed.
Israel Elections: Ezud Barak Accuses Benjamin Netanyahu of ‘Laying the Groundwork’ for War
Ezud Barak recently gave an interview to Israeli news outlet Channel 12. During the interview Lahak started berating the incumbent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, alleging that he (Netanyahu) “lies as he breathes, as he eats French fries, and as he leaves a restaurant without paying.”
But in the most shocking part of the interview, Lahak accused the Likud leader of “preparing the infrastructure to go to war in a way that would postpone the elections,” . He then concluded that “We must do everything to remove him from power on Oct. 27, once and for all.” Neither Netanyahu nor the ruling Likud party has responded to the accusation.
Who is Ezud Barak?

Israel Elections: Benjamin Netanyahu Cautions of Possible Attack by Israel’s Enemies Before General Elections
Earlier this week, Benjamin Netanyahu, the incumbent Prime Minister of Israel said that he received some indications recently regarding a possible attack by enemies of the country.
Netanyahu then declared that his administration will retaliate in response to any attack. “We have indications that ahead of the elections our enemies will try to attack us. So… I am sending you a message: Don’t mess with us, not now and not ever. Our long arm will reach you anywhere, anytime,” the Israeli leader said in a video message posted by his office.
After the warning, there was an attempted attack on a Flydubai flight ( FZ1073) travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv. During the attack, the Omani copilot tried to attack the flight’s Indian origin captain. The captain then opened the cockpit door, allowing passengers to subdue the copilot. The flight was forced to land in Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk, and all the passengers eventually reached Tel Aviv via another Emirati aircraft from the same airline.
Netanyahu said that a probe is underway to determine whether the perpetrator acted on instructions from another party, and that “whoever sent him will pay a very heavy price.” While multiple theories have emerged, the probe is still ongoing.
Israel Elections: New Poll Shows No Clear Majority for Any Bloc
A poll published by KAN earlier this week showed surprising results. If elections were to be held, Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar would win 23 seats, with the ruling Likud party claiming 21 seats. But on a bloc wise basis, Netanyahu’s bloc and the opposition bloc would each have 52 seats. This means that no bloc would have a clear majority to form the government.
