Epstein File Case: Amid ongoing investigation in Epstein case, US President Donald Trump has been continuing rejection having any involvement with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. While speaking to reporters, Trump said he has been “totally exonerated” and insisted that he has “nothing to hide.”

“I have nothing to hide. I've been exonerated. I have nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein,” Trump said. He claimed investigations cleared him of any wrongdoing and accused Democrats of failing to find evidence against him. According to Trump, they “went in hoping that they'd find it and found just the opposite.”

Trump Claims Epstein Opposed His Political Rise

During the interaction, Trump alleged that Epstein had worked against his political ambitions. He claimed Epstein did not want him to become president and tried to stop his election bid.

“Jeffrey Epstein was fighting that I don't get elected with some author, a sleazebag, by the way,” Trump said.

Trump Points Finger at Democrats and Bill Clinton

Trump also suggested that other political figures were now under scrutiny because of their alleged links to Epstein. He specifically mentioned former US president Bill Clinton while criticising Democrats.

“It's really interesting because they've been pulled in. Think of it. They've been pulled in. Clinton and many other Democrats have been pulled in,” Trump said.

Trump Responds to Hillary Clinton’s Accusations

Trump strongly rejected claims made by Hillary Clinton, who alleged that she and her husband were being dragged into the Epstein matter to distract attention from Trump, and that his administration had something to hide.

Responding to questions from reporters, Trump said, “No, no. They're getting pulled and that's their problem. I don't know. They're going to have to see what happens.” He also added, “But I watched her in Munich, and she seriously has Trump derangement syndrome.”

Epstein’s Death and Continued Public Scrutiny

Jeffrey Epstein died in 2019 while in federal custody as he awaited trial on sex trafficking charges. Despite his death, public attention around the case has continued, largely due to his connections with powerful figures in politics, business, and entertainment.

Justice Department Files Refer to Trump’s Past Contact

The renewed discussion comes after the release of Justice Department documents that mentioned past contact between Trump and investigators involved in the Epstein probe. A 2019 FBI interview summary with former Palm Beach police chief Michael Reiter states that Trump contacted authorities during the mid-2000s investigation.

According to the document, Trump expressed relief that law enforcement was taking action and said that many people had long known about Epstein’s conduct.

Trump Says He Cut Ties With Epstein Years Ago

The FBI record also notes that Trump told investigators he had banned Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago club and left an event after noticing teenagers present. Trump has previously maintained that he ended his relationship with Epstein more than 20 years ago.

Investigators Found No Links in Epstein Case

The wider release of files shows that investigators reviewed tips and allegations involving several high-profile individuals, including Trump. However, officials said they did not find credible information that would justify further investigation into sexual misconduct claims against him.

The documents also confirm that prosecutors issued a subpoena to Mar-a-Lago in 2021 as part of their case against Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking.
