The note was reportedly discovered by Tartaglione, a former police officer currently serving four consecutive life sentences for murder, inside a book he was reading shortly after Epstein was found on their cell floor with neck injuries on July 23, 2019.
That incident, which occurred roughly three weeks before Epstein was found dead in his cell, was officially ruled a suicide attempt by federal authorities. However, the discovery of the note and the conflicting accounts of the two inmates have fuelled years of speculation and conspiracy theories regarding the true nature of Epstein’s final days.
