The much-anticipated Atlanta leg of Kai Cenat’s “Streamer University” application tour dissolved into chaos, however, as hundreds of fans gathered near Hank Aaron Drive despite the event’s cancellation.
The massive turnout, spurred by confusion over the venue’s availability, forced the Atlanta Police Department to intervene after the situation became disruptive. The disruption stemmed from a last-minute cancellation of the scheduled Tuesday event. Organisers had originally planned for the auditions to take place at 450 Hank Aaron Drive, but the venue eventually withdrew, citing logistical concerns and the overwhelming volume of anticipated attendees. Kai Cenat’s team later explained that several potential venues backed out due to the sheer scale of interest, making it impossible to manage the crowd safely. Despite explicit instructions from organisers for fans to stay home and wait for updates, hundreds of aspiring content creators, some having travelled internationally, converged on the location, leading to the unauthorised gathering.
Law Enforcement Intervention
As the crowd grew increasingly restless, Atlanta police reported that individuals began assembling on private property and refused multiple requests to disperse. According to department statements, the situation resulted in several arrests and charges related to trespassing and failure to comply with police dispersal orders. A police helicopter was observed hovering over the area throughout the day to monitor the situation, ensuring the safety of both the residents and the attendees caught in the confusion. Officials stressed that the police action was a direct result of public safety concerns related to the large, unmanaged assembly, rather than any criminal acts involving weapons.
Rescheduling and Future Plans
In a video update released Tuesday afternoon, Kai Cenat confirmed that the auditions would be moved to Wednesday, June 17, at a new location. Organisers have committed to announcing the final venue details at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, with the application process slated to begin later that afternoon. This event marks the final stop in a multi-city tour that has already seen massive turnouts in New York and Los Angeles. Despite the setbacks in Atlanta, organisers maintain that the program remains a priority, aimed at providing aspiring creators the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and grow their platforms under Cenat’s mentorship.
