LMSI LLC, a food manafacturer hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio recently initiated a voluntary recall for some lots of its ‘Garlic Mediterranean Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil’ after it was found that the company used a garlic oil that was not approved for culinary use. The recalled oil was sold in three bottle sizes — 500 ml, 250 ml and 100 ml.
The product was packaged in glass bottles and sold under the Kofinas brand. No cases of any illnesses have been reported from usage of the product so far. Instead, this particular recall was launched out of regulatory compliance, rather than links to any health related outbreak. Unlike other recalls, the FDA has not provided specific lot numbers, expiration dates or UPC codes this time.

It was also available for direct online purchase through Kofinas Olive Oil’s website. This means that via e-commerce, there were orders from multiple US states for the Garlic Mediterranean infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
