The five teenagers who died in a serious crash on Scotland’s M9 motorway have been named as Joey Carthy, Alex McCarthy, Jeremy O’Brien, Jack Kennedy and Kamil Pustkowski. According to Scottish police, the 5 victims were between the ages of 16 to 19. The families of all the boys have been informed and they are currently co-ordinating with the cops.
M9 Crash: What Happened?
At approximately 3:40 A.M. on Sunday, August 16, a deadly car crash happened on the northbound carriageway of the M9 near Junction 10, at the Bannockburn junction.
Teenagers Joey Carthy, Alex McCarthy, Jeremy O’Brien, Jack Kennedy and Kamil Pustkowski were travelling north in an allegedly stolen BMW when it left the motorway and collided with a bridge like structure.
Emergency services were called to the scene, but all five people inside the car, allegedly stolen from the Glasgow area, were pronounced dead. The motorway was closed for several hours while emergency crews worked at the scene and investigators examined the scene.

M9 Crash: Investigation Update
Police Scotland has launched a major probe into the circumstances surrounding the deadly car crash on M9. Currently, investigators are working to determine – how and when the vehicle was allegedly stolen, the car’s movements before the crash, whether any other vehicles were involved and the car’s speed and direction immediately before the crash.
The cops are also analysing currently available dashcam footage from motorists & have urged anyone who saw the BMW before the crash or has relevant footage to contact them. The cause of the crash has not been determined yet & will be likely released once the investigation concludes.
M9 Crash: Local Authorities Response
Emergency services responded rapidly after the collision. Police officers, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews and ambulance personnel attended the scene.
The road was closed while emergency workers dealt with the crash and police carefully analysed the scene. Polish Scotland is leading the ongoing probe in the case.
