Nancy Guthrie Case Latest News Today: The case involving the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84 year old mother of NBC “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie, continues to be a hot topic in the state of Arizona. Five months after she went missing on February 1st from her residence near Tucson, there have been no developments in the form of suspect identification or any other important information regarding the disappearance. A recently issued community alert by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has brought more focus to the case, although this was not linked to Guthrie’s disappearance.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office gave an alert to the general public following a shooting that occurred on July 8, resulting in one man being injured, though not fatally, on West Mohawk Drive at 1200 block. Investigators did not identify any suspect(s), although the case is still open for investigation. On the same day, the roads near the crime scene were closed temporarily for purposes of investigation. This is in relation to an earlier investigation involving the discovery of two dead people in a house in Pima County while there is no connection yet to the Nancy Guthrie case.

Guthrie’s case is still being investigated by federal and state authorities as a kidnapping for ransom case and this is because her disappearance took place when traces of blood and damage to security cameras were found in her house. Additionally, her pacemaker had stopped communicating with her phone following her disappearance. 

According to reports from authorities, the Guthries have since been sent various ransom notes, with one of them requiring them to pay in crypto currency however, despite the various deadlines indicated in these messages, there has been no ransom paid yet.

It has been over 150 days since Guthrie went missing, but so far there have been no arrests, which was criticized.
