Nancy Guthrie Case Latest News: Anonymous Grave Tip Raises Fresh Questions
A group of volunteers from the Buscando Corazones Nogales organisation in Mexico got straight to work after receiving an anonymous tip. According to the tip, the grave of Savannah Guthrie’s 84 year old mother, Nancy Guthrie is located near Nogales in Northern Mexico, which is located close to the US border.
So far the extensive grave search has not yielded any results. But the volunteer group remains adamant that it will continue searching for the potential grave. The Pima County Sheriff Department acknowledged the efforts of the volunteers stating that it is “aware of reports regarding an anonymous tip related to the Nancy Guthrie investigation that was provided to a group in Mexico”. It also added that Mexican authorities had not initiated formal contact yet.

Jennifer Coffindaffer, a former FBI agent has revealed what could be a ‘huge breakthrough’ in the Nancy Guthrie case. Taking to microblogging platform X, she stated “It’s the biggest public break in Nancy’s Case, as CertiK, arguably the leading crypto security company in the world, has designated Nancy’s abduction as a wrench attack by proxy”.
Her post included a screenshot from CertiK, which alleged that Nancy was “kidnapped as part of a $6 million bitcoin ransom demand, illustrating the documented trend of proxy target selection already identified in our 2025 report.”

Data from a mobile app connected to Nancy’s pacemaker. The FBI noted that data was recorded till 2: 28 AM and then abruptly stopped.

Video footage from Nancy’s home which showed a masked man, tampering with her doorbell camera. The man was wearing a black backpack, seemed to be either 5’9″ or 5’10” tall and sported a medium build.

Nancy Guthrie Case: Who are the Suspects?
There are no official suspects in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, as per the latest developments. While many suspected that Coral Michelle Smith could be a suspect, her involvement has now been ruled out.
The cops are also looking for an unidentified masked man, who was caught tampering with Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell camera. Some people have suggested that Nancy Guthrie’s absconding son in law, Tommaso Cioni might be involved. However, Chris Nanos ruled out involvement of any family members.
Nancy Guthrie Case Latest update: Investigation Update
Last week, the Pima County Sheriff Department made several arrests in Nancy Guthrie’s neighbourhood of Catalina Hills, Tucson over alleged disruptive behaviour. Alexander Zabel Jr. from the Criminal Network channel got arrested for the second time and promptly given a felony charge of resisting arrest. While Investigative reporter Jonathan Lee Riches received a strict ultimatum from the cops – stay away from the neighbourhood or face arrest.
