Nancy Guthrie, the 84 year old mother of journalist and TV personality Savannah Guthrie has been missing for 6 months now, with no clear leads. But according to a former FBI agent, someone will most likely step forward to help with the probe. Meanwhile, Savannah Guthrie’s absence from the Today show continues to raise questions.   

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest News: Former FBI Agent Claims Someone Will ‘Come Forward’ With Information Regarding Nancy Guthrie

The FBI, who is jointly investigating the Nancy Guthrie case with the Pima County Sheriff Department is offering a $100,000 reward to anyone who can help with the investigation. 

The agency’s Phoenix branch is also seeking ‘videos and information’ pertaining to Nancy Guthrie. And that’s not all with the Guthrie family also offering a multi million dollar reward for the return of Nancy. 

However members of the general public have not shared anything with the agency so far. But former FBI agent Raymond Carr remains hopeful. 

 

While speaking in a recent interview, Carr said “I believe that time changes everything. Relationships change over time”. According to him, someone with information will most likely ‘come forward’ once some time has passed.  

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest News: Where is Savannah Guthrie? 

Journalist and Today Show host Savannah Guthrie has remained absence from her show since Tuesday (July 7). Many wondered if her sudden disappearance was related to the ongoing missing persons case of mother Nancy Guthrie. But an NBI insider has refuted the claim and stated that Savannah is busy preparing for an upcoming Wordle themed show that will air later this year. 

The network has not made any announcements about her return to the Today Show yet. Meanwhile another source has suggested that Savannah took several days off from the show. She also attended a World Cup match with husband Michael Feldman as well as fellow journalists Craig Melvin and Lindsay Czarniak. 

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest News: All the Evidence So Far 

So far, the following evidence has been uncovered in Nancy Guthrie’s case: 

  • The blood samples found on her porch and the surrounding street, that lead to her Catalina Hills home. 

  • Footage from the multiple surveillance videos that the Pima County Sheriff Department found in the neighbourhood. Police also recovered surveillance footage from some places near the 84 year old woman’s home. 

  • Data from a mobile app connected to Nancy’s pacemaker. The FBI noted that data was recorded till 2: 28 AM and then abruptly stopped. 

  • A single strand of hair that was recovered from her home.

  • Signs of forced entry into her home.    

  • Human remains recovered near Nancy Guthrie’s home. 

  • Doorbell video footage from her home, which showed a masked man with a black backpack tampering with her claim.

Authorities are actively searching for this man, who is either 5’9″ or 5’10” tall and has a medium build.

Nancy Guthrie Case: Who are the Suspects? 

There are no official suspects in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, as per the latest developments. While many suspected that local fugitive Coral Michelle Smith could be a suspect, her involvement was formally ruled out. 

The cops are also looking for an unidentified masked man, called the ‘porch guy’ who was caught tampering with Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell camera. He was carrying a backpack and allegedly tried to obscure the doorbell camera with his gloved hand and some flowers from Nancy’s garden.

Nancy Guthrie Case Investigation Update: FBI & Pima County Sheriff Department Continue Manhunt for Kidnapper 

FBI Phoenix recently shared that it is treating the Nancy Guthrie case like one of kidnapping with ransom, despite some reports that the probe was upgraded to a homicide.  

Three ransom notes related to the case emerged, with one of them claiming that there were two kidnappers involved, not just one. Later, Derrick Callella from California was arrested in the hoax.  

And just this week, he was ordered to take inpatient treatment. An Arizona court clearly stated that he must stay at either an inpatient substance use facility or halfway house before his sentencing. Callella, who was charged with 2 counts of harassment, will be sentenced on September 10, 2026 by US District  Judge John C Hinderaker.
