Nancy Guthrie Case Latest Update Today: A former FBI agent has drawn attention to a small detail visible on the glove worn by the masked person seen outside Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home, suggesting that the detail could potentially become significant if investigators recovered DNA from the glove or other evidence.

Guthrie, 84, the mother of TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie, disappeared from her home in the Catalina Foothills area near Tucson, Arizona, on February 1, 2026. Authorities believe she was abducted, but no suspect has been publicly identified. The investigation remains ongoing.

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest Update Today:  What Is Known About ‘Porch Guy’?

The person widely referred to online as “Porch Guy” was captured on surveillance footage outside Guthrie’s home around the time she disappeared. The individual was masked, wore gloves and carried a backpack that investigators previously identified as an Ozark Trail Hiker Pack sold by Walmart.

The surveillance footage has remained one of the most closely examined pieces of evidence available to the public. However, authorities have not publicly identified the person shown in the video.

The FBI has also been investigating biological evidence recovered during the case. In April, ABC News reported that the FBI was analyzing potentially significant DNA recovered from Guthrie’s home.

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest Update Today: Ex-FBI Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer Points To Glove Detail

Former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer recently shared a close-up image of the masked suspect’s glove and pointed to what appeared to be a hole in it.

Her observation has prompted renewed discussion over whether investigators could potentially use the detail to connect the suspect to biological evidence.

Coffindaffer suggested that DNA might have been recovered and indicated that she had some hope the evidence could eventually help investigators identify the person shown in the surveillance footage.

The observation, however, is not an identification of the suspect and does not establish that DNA from the glove belongs to “Porch Guy.”

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest Update Today: What Investigators Have Said

DNA has already played a role in the investigation, although not every DNA lead has produced a connection to Guthrie’s disappearance.

In February, the FBI said a black glove recovered near Guthrie’s home contained DNA and appeared to match the type of gloves worn by the person seen in surveillance footage.

However, authorities later said DNA from one glove recovered about two miles from Guthrie’s home belonged to a local restaurant worker who had no connection to the investigation.

Separately, ABC News reported in July that testing of hair recovered from Guthrie’s home did not point to a suspect. The sheriff said a mixed DNA sample recovered from the home remained the only known biological evidence that had not been affirmatively linked to a suspect at that point.

That distinction is important because the existence of DNA evidence does not necessarily mean investigators have identified the person who left it.

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest Update Today: Luke Daley Name Resurfaces In Nancy Guthrie Case

Another recent development has brought Luke Daley back into online discussions surrounding the case.

Daley’s recent booking has led some people following the investigation to compare photographs of him with the masked person captured outside Guthrie’s home. Those comparisons have circulated online, including observations about the appearance of his right hand.

However, there is no official confirmation that Daley is “Porch Guy” or that he is connected to Guthrie’s disappearance. Reports on the recent booking have also noted that authorities have not publicly identified him as a suspect in the Guthrie case.

Online comparisons of physical appearance should therefore not be treated as forensic evidence or as confirmation of involvement.

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest Update Today: What Happened To Nancy Guthrie?

Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her Catalina Foothills-area home before she was reported missing on February 1. Investigators have treated the disappearance as an abduction and have continued working with federal authorities.

The case has generated extensive public interest because surveillance footage captured a masked person outside Guthrie’s residence around the time she disappeared.

Despite multiple investigative leads, authorities have not publicly named a suspect in the disappearance.

More recently, authorities also investigated another purported ransom note connected to the case. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department ultimately said the latest note was not credible, according to Associated Press reporting.

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest Update: Could DNA Identify ‘Porch Guy’?

The possibility raised by Coffindaffer centers on whether investigators obtained usable DNA from evidence associated with the suspect. If a DNA profile can be reliably attributed to the person shown in the surveillance footage and subsequently matched to an individual in an appropriate database or investigation, it could potentially provide an important investigative lead.

But at present, Coffindaffer’s observation about the hole in the glove remains an observation rather than a confirmed breakthrough. The FBI and local authorities have not announced that the glove detail has led to the identification of “Porch Guy.”
