Nancy Guthrie Case Latest Update Today: Nancy Guthrie Disappeared From Her Tucson Home

Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her home in the Catalina Foothills area of Tucson during the early hours of February 1. She was last seen at the property on the evening of January 31 after family members dropped her off. The case has continued to attract national attention because of her connection to Savannah Guthrie, who is a co-host of NBC’s Today.

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest Update Today: Retired FBI Agent Offers ‘Fatal Heart Attack’ Theory

During the podcast discussion, Storey said he believed the mystery surrounding Nancy’s disappearance could eventually be resolved.

“I think it will be at some point. Somewhere along the line, somebody always talks,” he said, according to the report. Storey suggested that if multiple people were involved, one of them could eventually come under investigation for another serious offense and potentially cooperate with authorities in exchange for consideration in their own case. He also presented a possible scenario in which Nancy’s disappearance initially involved a kidnapping for ransom but subsequently went wrong.

According to Storey’s theory, Nancy could have suffered a fatal heart attack a day or two after the alleged abduction. He did not present evidence establishing that this occurred and emphasized that the scenario was his own theory rather than an official finding.

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest Update Today:  What Investigators Have Said About Nancy’s Disappearance

Authorities previously released surveillance footage that appeared to show an armed and masked individual tampering with a camera near Nancy’s front door. However, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said investigators had not established whether the individual acted alone. That uncertainty remains an important part of the investigation, with authorities continuing to examine evidence and possible leads.

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest Update Today: Authorities Have Previously Released A Death-Related Claim

A July 31 communication from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department included a claim that Nancy had died shortly after being taken. The communication was released alongside an earlier ransom demand as investigators sought information that could help advance the case. However, authorities have not publicly confirmed that Nancy is dead.

That distinction is important because claims about her death have circulated alongside multiple theories surrounding the disappearance. Investigators have continued to treat the case as an active investigation rather than publicly establishing a definitive account of Nancy’s fate.

Investigators have also continued testing evidence recovered from Nancy’s home. Sheriff Nanos previously said testing on a hair sample had been completed but did not produce a suspect lead. Meanwhile, a mixed DNA sample containing material from as many as four individuals remained under examination by multiple laboratories, including the FBI laboratory in Quantico, Virginia.

The testing could potentially help investigators determine whether the material is relevant to the disappearance, although authorities have not publicly linked it to a specific suspect.

More than seven months after Nancy disappeared, investigators have not publicly named a suspect and have not provided a definitive explanation of what happened to her. Storey’s comments add another possible scenario to the growing number of theories surrounding Nancy’s disappearance, but they should not be interpreted as confirmation of what happened to her. For now, the official investigation has not established whether Nancy is alive or dead, who may have taken her, or whether anyone else was involved. As investigators continue examining DNA evidence and other material recovered during the case, authorities are still seeking information that could help determine Nancy Guthrie’s whereabouts and clarify the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
