Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping Case: US news anchor Savannah Guthrie made a fresh public plea just hours before the latest reported ransom deadline linked to her mother’s disappearance expired on Monday. In an emotional video posted on Instagram, she urged people to help authorities with any information.

“We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help,” Savannah Guthrie said.

Nancy Guthrie went missing late at night from her home in Tucson, Arizona, and was last seen on January 31. Investigators believe she was taken against her will. Her disappearance sparked a major search involving local law enforcement and federal agencies.

FBI Offers Reward in Nancy Guthrie Case as Contact Stops

The FBI has announced a $50,000 (£36,000) reward for information that leads to Nancy Guthrie’s safe return. The agency said the most recent ransom deadline, set for 5:00 pm local time on Monday, has passed.

The FBI added that it is not aware of “any continued communication between the Guthrie family and suspected kidnappers.” An earlier deadline for a ransom payment in Bitcoin had also expired on February 5.

Concerns about Nancy Guthrie grew when she failed to attend her regular Sunday church service on February 1. Members of the congregation noticed her absence and alerted others, leading to the discovery that she was missing.

In her latest video message, Savannah Guthrie appeared alone, unlike previous appeals where she stood with her siblings. “I just want to share a few thoughts as we enter another week of this nightmare,” she said. “She was taken, and we don’t know where. Savannah Guthrie thanked people across the country for their prayers and support, saying her mother could feel them “even in this darkest place.”

She urged everyone, including those far from Arizona, to stay alert and report anything unusual. “if you see anything, if you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement,” she said.

Nancy Guthrie Investigation Continues With No Suspects Named

Authorities said no suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles have been identified in connection with Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance so far.

In an update before Monday’s deadline, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office said it had no new information to share publicly but confirmed that the investigation remains active.

FBI Leads Nancy Guthrie Search With 24-Hour Command Post

The sheriff’s office said the FBI is handling all aspects related to any ransom notes or communications involving the Guthrie family.

In a separate statement, the FBI said agents from across the country “continue to deploy to Tucson.”

“We are currently operating a 24-hour command post that includes crisis management experts, analytic support, and investigative teams. But we still need the public’s help,” the FBI said.

FBI Reviews Ransom Note in Nancy Guthrie Disappearance

Last week, FBI Special Agent Heith Janke confirmed that the agency was reviewing a ransom note sent to several media outlets. The note mentioned two payment deadlines one on Thursday and another on Monday without clearly stating the time zone.

On Monday, FBI Director Kash Patel arrived in Tucson on a trip that had been scheduled before Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.
