Nepal Election 2082 Result Live: Vote counting is currently underway across Nepal after the country held its Federal Parliament Election 2082 (2026) on March 5. The election is being closely watched because it is the first national vote after the youth-led protests of 2025, which resulted in the fall of the previous government. Election officials reported that nearly 60% of eligible voters took part in the nationwide polling. The final results may take a few more days as ballots from several remote regions are still being transported and counted.
The election will decide representatives for Nepal’s 275-member House of Representatives. Out of these, 165 members are elected directly from constituencies, while 110 seats are filled through proportional representation. More than 3,400 candidates representing over 60 political parties and independent groups are contesting across the country’s seven provinces.
Some of the major political parties in the race include the Nepali Congress, the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre). At the same time, several newer political parties and independent candidates are gaining attention in early vote trends.
From the begining, counting trends from Koshi Province is showing a strong performance by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). The vote counts show the party leading in several constituencies, indicating that it may challenge the traditional dominance of older political parties in the region.
Morang-1 is one of the six parliamentary constituencies in the district. Morang district, located in Koshi Province, is considered one of the key electoral regions. The district has a population of around 965,370 people and 735,525 eligible voters. Among them, about 374,326 are male voters and 361,193 are female voters. Morang has six constituencies for the House of Representatives and twelve provincial assembly constituencies.
According to the latest vote counting trends in the Nepal Federal Parliament Election 2082, Yagnmani Neupane from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is currently leading with 4,125 votes. Shanti Pakhrin Lama of the Shram Sanskriti Party is in second place with 945 votes, while Khadga Bahadur Phago from the Nepali Congress has secured 778 votes so far.
Meanwhile, Ghana Shyam Khatiwada of CPN-UML has received 473 votes, and Kul Prasad Samba from the Nepali Communist Party has obtained 104 votes. The counting process is still ongoing, and the final winner has not yet been declared.
One of the most notable aspects of the 2026 Nepal election is the growing influence of young voters and Gen Z candidates. The election follows widespread protests in 2025, where many young people demanded political reform, transparency, and better economic opportunities.
Several new political groups and youth-backed leaders are trying to challenge the long-standing dominance of traditional parties. Among them is the Balendra Shah-led National Independent Party, which has gained attention among younger voters for its focus on education reforms, healthcare improvement, and anti-corruption measures.
This shift indicates that Nepal’s political landscape could be evolving, as voters increasingly show interest in new leadership and alternative political movements alongside established parties.
Vote counting is continuing across different parts of the country, and the Election Commission of Nepal is expected to announce the final results for each constituency in the coming days. Ballots from several remote mountainous regions are still being transported to counting centres, which may delay the final tally.
The results of the election will determine who forms the next government and how Nepal addresses key issues such as economic recovery, political reforms, and foreign relations with neighbouring countries and global powers.
