Koshi Election 2082 Result Live: Nepal’s ongoing parliamentary elections are witnessing a major political shift, with newer political forces gaining ground against established leaders. Early counting trends show the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) emerging as a strong contender across several constituencies, particularly in the Koshi Province.

One of the most closely watched contests is unfolding in Jhapa district’s Constituency No. 5, where senior RSP leader and anti-indian rapper Balen Shah is leading by a large margin against former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the chairman of the CPN-UML.

The elections have also drawn attention for the large number of young candidates fielded by the RSP, many of whom belong to Generation Z and represent a new wave of political leadership in Nepal.

Early results from Koshi Province suggest a strong showing by the Rastriya Swatantra Party. According to the latest vote counting trends, the party is leading in multiple constituencies and appears poised to challenge the dominance of traditional political parties.

Jhapa-5 Election Result

One of the most high-profile electoral battles in Nepal is taking place in Jhapa-5, where RSP’s Balen Shah is competing against former prime minister KP Sharma Oli.

According to the latest vote count, Shah has secured 10,190 votes, while Oli has received 4,087 votes. The gap between the two candidates has continued to widen as counting progresses, with Shah maintaining a strong lead.

This result is particularly significant because KP Sharma Oli is one of Nepal’s most prominent political figures and the chairman of the CPN-UML.

If the current trend continues, it could mark a major upset in Nepal’s political landscape, signaling a shift toward newer political leadership.

So far, the overall election trends show:

  • Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leading in 47 constituencies
  • CPN-UML leading in 5 constituencies
  • Nepali Congress leading in 5 constituencies
  • Nepali Communist Party leading in 3 constituencies
  • Other parties leading in 2 constituencies

The RSP has also secured its first confirmed victory in the ongoing election after Ranju Neupane (Darshana) won the Kathmandu-1 parliamentary seat. Darshana received 15,455 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Prabal Thapa, who secured 6,364 votes, while Rabindra Mishra from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party finished third with 3,972 votes.

The victory marks an important milestone for the relatively new political party as vote counting continues across the country.

Nepal Election Result: Rise of Gen Z Candidates in Nepal Elections

The Rastriya Swatantra Party has also drawn attention for fielding several young candidates in the election.

The party reportedly nominated nine Gen Z candidates, including 29-year-old Sasmit Pokharel, a former aide to Balen Shah. Pokharel previously worked closely with Shah during his tenure as Kathmandu’s mayor before stepping down earlier this year to contest a parliamentary seat.

Pokharel has an academic background in city planning and educational policy and has also studied partly in the United States.

Speaking about the need for political change, Pokharel said, “The old leaders have proven themselves incompetent and arrogant,” he said. “We need fresh voices”.

His remarks reflect the growing demand among younger voters for new leadership and reform in Nepal’s political system.

Nepal Election Result: Political Shift Underway in Nepal

The current election results indicate that Nepal may be entering a new political phase where emerging leaders and younger candidates are gaining public support.

While final results are still pending in many constituencies, the strong performance of the Rastriya Swatantra Party—especially in places like Jhapa-5—suggests that traditional political power structures could face significant challenges.

With vote counting continuing, the coming hours will determine whether these early trends translate into a larger electoral breakthrough for the party.
