New Thai central bank chief says will maintain independence

BANGKOK, Oct 1 (Reuters) – Thailand's new central bank chief said on Wednesday he will maintain the independence of the central bank while collaborating with the finance ministry to address economic challenges. Vitai Ratanakorn was speaking to reporters as he took over as governor from October 1, succeeding Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput.
