Florida Panthers forward Jonah Gadjovich on Sunday signed a two-year contract extension through the 2027-28 season. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the deal — announced on Gadjovich's 27th birthday — is for $1.8 million according to multiple media reports. The average annual value of $905,000 is an increase from the $775,000 of his previous contract, per reports. "Jonah has become an integral part of our locker room and a strong contributor for our group on the ice," Florida general manager Bill Zito said. Gadjovich, who could have become an unrestricted free agent after this season, has one assist in the Panthers' first three games. Last season, he had four points (all goals), 60 penalty minutes, 21 blocks and 127 hits in 42 regular- season games. He contributed three points (two goals, one assist) in 16 playoff games last season, including a goal in Game 7 vs. Toronto in Round 2, as the Panthers won their second consecutive Stanley Cup championship. In three seasons with Florida, Gadjovich has averaged 19.54 hits per 60 minutes, the highest among Panthers skaters who have suited up in at least 10 games in that span. For his career, Gadjovich has 19 points (10 goals, nine assists), 312 penalty minutes, 55 blocks and 417 hits in 163 regular-season games for the Vancouver Canucks (2020-21), San Jose Sharks (2021-23) and Panthers.
