Pokemon Go Outage Today: Nintendo’s Pokemon Go is one of the most popular mobile games worldwide but it seems like there’s trouble with its services currently. Over 20,000 users in the US reported facing disruptions in the mobile app of the popular mobile game recently. Issues ranged from  ‘Network Error 2’ screens to login errors. 

Pokemon Go Outage Today: Is Pokemon Go Down Today?

Yes, the mobile app for Nintendo’s popular game Pokémon Go is currently down. Over 20,000 users across the US pointed out that they were encountering problems with the network. The outage started happening around 2:30 PM PT and peaked around 3:27 PM PT, according to data from the outage tracking platform Downdetector, with complaints of widespread disruption. 

Pokemon Go Server Outage Today: Downdetector Status

Users started reporting errors on Downdetector earlier today, with the reports starting from  2:30 PM PT (West Coast). The platform showed that not all users encountered the same issue. According to the data from Downdetector, the majority of the complaints (63%) were related to game launch, with login errors and server connection issues also reported. 

Pokemon Go Outage: Issues Faced by Customers 

Customers faced different types of issues with the mobile app of Pokémon Go. Many users saw  ‘Network Error 2’ screens, which led to trouble in game launch, while others complained of login errors and server connection issues. Issues regarding gameplay & in app purchases were also detected. 

Pokemon Go Outage: Cause of the Outage 

No official cause for the outage of Pokémon Go’s mobile app has been shared yet. However, such outages are generally caused due to disruptions with the cloud provider or server overload.  

Pokemon Go’s Parent Company’s Response to the Outage 

Scopely, the parent company of Pokémon GO, has responded amid the reports of widespread outages. Scopely Explore Support, the company’s support handle on X, shared that the team is working to “resolve it as quickly as possible.”  However, based on previous outages involving Verizon, technical teams typically work to restore services as quickly as possible once issues are identified and the outage doesn’t last long. 

An official restoration timeline for the mobile app of Pokemon Go is not currently available. For further updates, customers should keep up with the official communication channels of Scopely.
