‘Protect vulnerable minorities in Bangladesh’: HFAF chairman to Trump

The HFAF submits some policy recommendations regarding the government of Bangladesh, addressing its disregard for religious minorities, deepening ties with China, and exploitation of cheap exports to undermine US workers.

Washington: Hindus for America First (HFAF) Founder and Chairman Utsav Sanduja wrote an open letter to US President-elect Donald Trump and secretary of state nominee senator Marco Rubio on 27 November 2024 that the leaders had set the benchmark for safeguarding American workers, standing resolutely for persecuted religious minorities, and challenging China’s relentless expansionism.
“The HFAF humbly submits these (below mentioned) policy recommendations regarding the government of Bangladesh, addressing its disregard for religious minorities, deepening ties with China,” he said on micro blogging social media handle X.
He recommended that the halting of the U.S. funding for projects tied to Beijing’s ambitions and prioritizing initiatives that benefit America and its allies directly. Highlight the fact that the Dhaka’s growing reliance on Chinese investments and military aid compromises regional stability.

The Hindu, Buddhist, and Christian communities in Bangladesh have faced systemic violence and discrimination. Make U.S. aid contingent on the Bangladeshi government taking measurable action to protect these populations. Bangladesh’s garment exports rely heavily on the US markets so impose strategic tariffs. It will prioritize US manufacturing and benefit American workers.
Check the misuse of billions of dollars that flow annually from Bangladeshi expatriates in the US to their home country in corruption, extremism, or anti-American agendas.
