Russia carried out a fresh overnight aerial assault using two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and dozens of strike drones, including Shahed loitering munitions and decoy UAVs.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the drones were launched from multiple locations in Russia and occupied Ukrainian territories, while the ballistic missiles were fired from occupied Crimea.
Ukraine said its Air Force, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, unmanned systems and mobile fire groups were deployed to counter the attack.

Ukrainian officials said air defence systems successfully intercepted or electronically suppressed 72 aerial targets during the overnight assault.
Despite the successful interceptions, officials confirmed that two ballistic missiles and 19 attack drones managed to hit 13 locations, while debris from intercepted drones fell in four other areas, causing additional damage.
The latest attack once again highlighted the growing pressure on Ukraine’s air defence network as Russia continues to launch large-scale aerial strikes.

The latest Russian attacks killed four people across Ukraine, including two in Kyiv.
Officials said explosions rocked the Ukrainian capital shortly after midnight. The first strike killed one woman and injured two others while damaging warehouses, administrative buildings and transport infrastructure.
Hours later, another drone attack hit Kyiv’s Desnianskyi district, killing another civilian and injuring six more people.
Outside the capital, Russian strikes killed two people in Kharkiv and wounded around 20 others. Another guided bomb attack injured civilians in the Zaporizhzhia region. Ukraine’s Air Force also reported that Russia launched 169 long-range drones and seven missiles, including five ballistic missiles, during another wave of attacks.
Russia-Ukraine War Latest News: Ukraine Responds by Targeting Russian Oil Facilities
Ukraine responded with long-range drone strikes deep inside Russian territory. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces targeted oil refineries in Russia’s Saratov and Tatarstan regions, while attacks also reached Bashkortostan and Voronezh.
Russian authorities acknowledged damage to industrial facilities and admitted that fuel supplies remain under pressure. Moscow later announced a temporary suspension of diesel exports until the end of July as it attempts to stabilise domestic fuel supplies.
Russia also accused Ukraine of targeting the Krasnodarskaya compressor station that serves the Blue Stream natural gas pipeline to Turkey, although officials said gas exports continued without disruption.

A major diplomatic development came as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the NATO summit.
Following the meeting, Trump announced that Washington would allow Ukraine to manufacture Patriot air defence systems under licence, a move that could significantly strengthen Kyiv’s ability to defend itself against Russian missile attacks.
“We’ll give them the right to make Patriots. We’ll show them how to do it,” Trump said. “I think they can produce them pretty quickly.”
Zelenskyy welcomed the announcement and reiterated that strengthening Ukraine’s air defence remains the country’s highest military priority. “Air defense is the priority.”
The two leaders also discussed future weapons supplies, drone cooperation and possible peace negotiations.
