Recently, Ukrainian troops launched a massive drone attack on the Novorossiysk port of Russia. Now, Russian authorities have shared that the attack damaged 2 grain terminals of the port, killed 3 and injured 24.
A child was among those killed according to regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev. Ukraine’s SBU security service said the attack had “strategic significance” while President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that two frigates, a large landing ship, a corvette and other vessels were hit. City mayor Andrei Kravchenko confirmed the attack on Telegram stating “Novorossiysk endured a horrific night,”. He also shared that operations at the port have been temporarily suspended.

The Russian military forces launched a massive overnight drone strike on Ukraine’s largest Danube River port of Izmail. The attack sparked , setting off large fires and heavily damaging vital shipping infrastructure. According to local authorities, multiple storage buildings and terminal structures sustained damage. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.
Izmail port, which is located in the Izmail district of Odesa oblast, serves as Ukraine’s essential alternative gateway for exporting grain and commodities bypassing blockaded Black Sea deepwater ports. It is also located close to the Ukraine-Romania border.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently made a bold claim with regards to the war. He claimed that Ukrainian forces have recaptured 745 square km (288 square miles) of Russian-occupied land this year across a swathe of the southeastern front in a ‘precision operation’.
“This offensive operation of ours was carried out with precision – exactly as planned,” he said on X. According to reports, multiple territories of Ukraine are currently under Russia’s occupation.

Ever since the start of the war, Kyiv and Moscow have exchanged prisoners of war multiple times. Russia’s human rights commissioner published a list of 224 Ukrainian prisoners of war that she said her country is willing to exchange. But the request was rejected by Ukraine.
For our part, we are ready for an exchange,” she said in a statement, saying Russia had proposed three different lists of potential candidates for a swap to Ukraine over the past month. “But Ukraine is refusing to take back its own citizens.” Dmytro Libinets, the parliamentary commissioner for human rights in Ukraine accused the Kremlin of speaking ‘cynical lies’. “Ukraine is always committed to bringing back every one of its citizens—and works toward this goal every day,” he stated in a Telegram message.

Russia and North Korea are known to be close allies. But according to Zelensky, Moscow might be relying more on Pyongyang than expected. For the first time in its history, Russia cannot wage war without reinforcements from North Korea, he claimed and slammed Russia for ‘bringing in North Korean equipment’. He urged North Korea’s neighbours South Korea and Japan to exercise caution.
Previously Zelensky stated that North Korea is “studying” the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and will send between 30,000 to 50,000 more troops. The country is hoping to “gain experience in modern warfare under Russia”. He also said that “We have already found North Korean missiles on the territory of Ukraine. Today, this is already an established fact”.
Pyongyang, which is a close ally of Moscow, has already lost close to 7,000 troops during the ongoing war. According to data from the Ukrainian military’s intelligence unit, the majority of the casualties happened in Russia’s Kursk oblast, with 50% of North Korea’s deployed troops either dead, injured or captured .
