In Ukraine’s southern city of Mykolaiv, Russian drones struck port infrastructure, damaging three foreign-registered vessels. Local prosecutors said two Ukrainians aboard one of the ships died in the attack.
In Odesa, a Russian missile struck a residential building, killing two people and injuring eight others.
Emergency officials said, “Among those killed was a woman who was walking in a park with children at the time of the attack. The children survived and are receiving the necessary assistance.”
Authorities also reported damage to residential buildings, vehicles, a preschool, a religious institution and other civilian infrastructure.

Russian drone attacks also struck the city of Marhanets, where one person died, and eight others suffered injuries after a bus was hit.
In the frontline city of Kherson, officials said a 70-year-old woman was killed while five elderly residents were injured during another Russian attack.
Ukraine also launched strikes inside Russian-controlled areas.
Officials installed by Moscow said a Ukrainian drone attack killed two people on a motorway in the occupied Kherson region.

Public anger over the defence ministry changes continued to grow as demonstrators gathered for a second consecutive day in Kyiv.

One protester, Valeriia Balenko, said, “I truly believe and hope that the authorities will, after all, listen to the people – that they will heed the people’s demands.”
She added, “Because this is what the people want, for the sake of our soldiers’ lives and for the sake of the civilians who live under air attacks every day,”

President Zelenskyy has appointed Yevgeniy Khmara, head of Ukraine’s SBU security service, as acting defence minister.
