According to multiple reports, Russia carried out an air attack on Odesa in Southern Ukraine, wounding 17 people, mostly civilians in residential areas.Serhiy Lysak, the head of the city’s military administration, confirmed the news of the attack via Telegram. Among those injured, at least 3 were children. No casualties have been reported yet.

Andrei Nikitin, the foreign minister of Russia has responded to the recent airspace warning from Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky. “We are constantly improving flight safety and airport security requirements, and we have solutions for all of this.” he stated.
Nikitin then added that “We are working in close contact with the Ministry of Defence and the Russian National Guard. And I believe that we will not allow any significant disruption to civil aviation,”. Zelensky’s strict warning also caught the attention of Russian president Vladimir Putin, who labelled it as “state terrorism”.

Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov is all set to meet with papal envoy Cardinal Matteo Zuppi later this month. Zuppi will visit Russia, and the two will discuss humanitarian issues, including the ongoing war with Ukraine. “I will receive him at the end of September, and we will specifically talk about Ukrainian matters,” Ushakov said while confirming the news.
“Zuppi has come to us several times. He mainly deals with humanitarian issues and we will continue discussing those. Of course, the political side of things is involved too. You can’t get around it.” Previously Zuppi visited Russia in 2024 and is generally received warmly by the Kremlin.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio opened up about the defence deal signed between the US and Ukraine. He shared that both countries are currently negotiating regarding the licensing for production of Patriot missiles.
“That may come to fruition, but it really won’t solve the short-term challenge that they’re pointing to,” Rubio said. He then added that “It’s become the number one defence need on the planet, not just for Ukraine, but on the planet,”. He gave the update while speaking to conservative news channel Fox News.

Yesterday, Norway shared it seized a Russian vessel after receiving a request from the Ukrainian state firm Naftogaz, . Russia was accused of expropriation of Naftogaz property when it initially annexed Crimea in 2014.
A tribunal in The Hague in April 2023 ordered Russia to pay Naftogaz $4.22bn plus interest and legal costs for compensation, but the Kremlin still has not paid. According to Sergii Fodorenko, the acting CEO of Naftogaz “Russia cannot evade responsibility simply by refusing to comply with an international arbitral award,”. Russian officials have now slammed Norway for the act, calling it “piracy” according to comments from Russian state news agency Tass.
