Spain Train Crash: 6-Year-Old ‘Miracle’ Girl Survives While 42 Die in Cordoba

A 6-year-old girl survived a tragic train crash in Cordoba, Spain, while 42 members of her family and other passengers were killed.

A tragic train collision near Cordoba in southern Spain on Sunday left at least 42 people dead and many others injured. Among the chaos, a 6-year-old girl miraculously survived the accident.

Spain Train Crash: Young Girl Survives Against All Odds

The little girl escaped through a broken train window and was later found barefoot on the tracks by a Civil Guard officer,  After being taken to a hospital, she received three stitches on her head. One of her relatives confirmed that she is now in good health.

The girl’s hometown mayor, José Carlos Hernández of Punta Umbria, expressed relief at her survival. “There were many who did not survive, but many also survived… like the miracle of the girl who is safe,” he said, leading a minute of silence in honour of the victims.

Family Lost in the Spain Train Crash

Tragically, the girl’s parents, brother, and cousin were among those killed in the accident. They were seated in the front carriages that took the brunt of the impact when the oncoming train derailed and collided with theirs. The girl is now staying with her grandparents in a hotel in Cordoba, the closest city to the crash site.

Cause of the Spain Train Crash Still Unknown

Spanish authorities are investigating the accident, but the exact cause remains unclear. Transport Minister Oscar Puente described the crash as “very strange,” noting that both the trains and tracks were relatively new.

Royal Visit and Response on Spain Train Crash Site

On Tuesday, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia visited the site of the crash and met with survivors, showing solidarity with the victims and their families. The accident injured over 120 people, many seriously.
