Temperatures across the UK today are sitting near the seasonal average, with peak afternoon highs ranging from 16 °C in the north to 22 °C in the south.
UK Weekly Weather Forecast
The North East temperature is set to highs of 22 °C on Thursday and Friday. Further south will be in even warmer conditions, and parts of London are tipped to reach 28 °C by the weekend.
In Kent, highs of 22.4 °C were recorded this weekend, on Saturday, while London’s Kew Gardens reached 21.3 °C.
However, Sunday is expected to remain fine and dry across most of the UK, though the North East can expect cloud and a few light showers after a sunny start.
Monday is set to be “a bright day with mainly fine, dry weather and light winds” for the region, with plenty of sunshine and highs of 17 °C.
On Tuesday and Thursday, breezier and cloudier conditions are likely to be seen, with occasional outbreaks of rain as temperatures gradually rise.
Moreover, some parts of the country will see thunderstorms on Monday, and temperatures are expected to remain in the low 20s before clouds and rain sweep in from the west on Tuesday.
The Weather Forecasters are predicting a significant rise in the mercury from midweek, as warmer air from Europe pushes into the UK.
However, by Wednesday, temperatures across south-east England could climb to around 27 °C, with another warm spell anticipated on Thursday and Friday.
Despite some cloud cover potentially keeping the peak temperatures, weather forecasters believe there is a genuine chance of 30 °C being recorded before the week is out.

On Sunday, June 21, 2026, some parts of the South East, like Chelmsford in Essex, will hit 28 °C, along with Watford in Hertfordshire, while Wisley in Surrey is expected to work in these conditions.
However, Bristol and Nottingham will be a touch cooler at 26 °C, while areas like Brighton will hit 27 °C.
Manchester will feel cooler at 24 °C, and further south in Cornwall, as Newquay is due to be just 22 °C and cloudy.

Met Office forecaster Kathryn Chalk said that “We’re definitely seeing a warming trend from midweek onwards. Relatively warm and humid nights are also on the cards – not as expected as what we had a few weeks ago, because it won’t be wall-to-wall sunshine like that, we had a stronger signal for that compared to this, but nevertheless it is going to be turning warmer.”
