(Adds details, shipment periods from expected origins) HAMBURG, Oct 15 (Reuters) - The Korea Feed Association (KFA) in South Korea purchased an estimated 131,000 metric tons of animal feed corn in an international tender on Wednesday seeking up to 136,000 tons, European traders said. It was expected to be sourced optionally from the U.S., South America or South Africa. It was purchased by the KFA’s Incheon section in two consignments for arrival in South Korea in January 2026 and was all bought at an estimated $234.90 a ton cost and freight included (c&f). One consignment of about 65,000 tons was said to have been bought from trading house CHS for arrival in South Korea around January 5. Shipment of the consignment was sought between November 27-December 16 if the corn is sourced from the U.S. Pacific Northwest coast, between November 7-November 26 if from the U.S. Gulf, November 2-November 21 from South America or between November 17-December 6 if from South Africa. A second consignment of about 66,000 tons was bought from Olam for arrival in South Korea around January 30. Shipment of the second consignment was sought between December 22-January 10 if the corn is sourced from the U.S. Pacific Northwest coast, between December 2-December 21 if from the U.S. Gulf, November 27-December 16 from South America or between December 12-December 31 if from South Africa. European/Black Sea origin corn was believed to be excluded from the tender, traders said. The KFA’s Incheon section is also called the Feed Buyers Group. Reports reflect assessments from traders and further estimates of prices and volumes are still possible later.
