US Iran Israel Update News:  A second humanitarian flotilla is preparing to depart from Barcelona with the aim of delivering aid to Palestinians in Gaza Strip. The mission, expected to begin on Sunday, seeks to challenge the ongoing Israeli blockade and bring essential supplies to the region.

Around 30 boats are scheduled to leave the Mediterranean port carrying medical aid and relief materials as part of the Global Sumud Flotilla. Organisers say more vessels may join the journey as it moves closer to Palestine.

US Iran Israel Update News: Previous Attempt Blocked by Israel

This is not the first such effort. In October last year, a similar flotilla involving about 40 boats was stopped by Israeli forces before it could reach Gaza. During that operation, Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and over 450 others were detained.

The earlier incident highlights the challenges faced by activists trying to deliver aid through sea routes into the blockaded region.

US Iran Israel Update News: Aim to ‘Open Humanitarian Corridor’

Organisers say the main goal of the mission is to create a safe route for humanitarian assistance to reach Gaza. Despite a ceasefire agreement that included promises of increased aid, many Palestinians and international organisations claim that supplies remain far below what is needed for the population of over 2 million people.

“This is a mission that aims to open a humanitarian corridor so the aid delivery organisations can arrive,” said Saif Abukeshak, a Palestinian activist involved in organising the flotilla.

Actor Liam Cunningham, known for his role in Game of Thrones, has expressed support for the mission, although he is not personally joining the voyage.

He criticised governments for failing to meet their responsibilities, stating, “Every kilogram of aid that is on these ships is a failure because all these people on these ships giving up their time to help their fellow human beings are doing what their governments are legally obliged to do.”

US Iran Israel Update News: Humanitarian Concerns Continue

The World Health Organization has stressed that even during conflicts, international humanitarian law requires countries to ensure safe access to medical care and essential services.

While Israel maintains that it is not blocking aid, humanitarian groups argue that the level of assistance reaching Gaza remains insufficient to meet urgent needs.

US Iran Israel Update News: Allegations Over Treatment of Activists

Participants from last year’s flotilla, including Swiss and Spanish activists, claimed they faced harsh and inhumane conditions during their detention by Israeli forces. However, these allegations have been denied by Israeli authorities.

The upcoming mission is expected to once again test the limits of access to Gaza and draw global attention to the ongoing humanitarian situation.
