US-Iran War Latest News: Tensions between the United States and Iran remain high as Tehran signalled that it is prepared for conflict while continuing diplomatic efforts to avoid another major escalation in the Middle East. The warning came during a period of uncertainty surrounding fragile ceasefire discussions between Washington and Tehran.

Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said the country remains alert even as leaders continue negotiations aimed at securing long-term peace in the region.

“Also, we are waiting with our finger on the trigger, God willing, for our negotiating atmosphere, because our main outlook is toward lasting peace and, as stated by the martyred Leader, we pursue diplomatic matters based on three principles: dignity, wisdom, and expediency. Therefore, the people should know that Iran’s atmosphere is an atmosphere of firmness, construction, development, and trust,” Mohajerani said in remarks broadcast on Iran’s SNN television, according to Reuters.

Her remarks reflected Tehran’s attempt to project strength while keeping diplomatic channels open with the United States.

US-Iran War Latest News: Donald Trump Calls Iran’s Response ‘Totally Unacceptable’

The latest exchange came shortly after US President Donald Trump criticised Iran’s response to a proposed peace agreement.

Trump warned that the ceasefire between the two countries was “on life support” and described Tehran’s latest position as “stupid” before later calling it “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE”.

The conflict, which began on February 28 following joint US-Israeli military strikes on Iranian targets, has expanded across the wider Middle East. The crisis has triggered fears of a broader regional war and increased concerns over global energy security.

US-Iran War Latest News: Strait of Hormuz Crisis Raises Global Oil Supply Concerns

One of the biggest concerns for world markets remains the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial shipping route through which nearly one-fifth of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas supplies pass.

Any disruption in the narrow waterway could severely impact fuel prices and international trade. Since the conflict intensified, investors and governments have closely monitored developments in the Gulf region.

Iran has repeatedly asserted its control over the strategic route and warned against foreign interference near its waters.

US-Iran War Latest News: Tehran Demands Sanctions Relief and Compensation

According to reports, Iran’s latest proposal to Washington includes several major demands. Tehran reportedly asked for compensation for war-related damage, removal of the US naval blockade, guarantees against future military attacks, and the lifting of economic sanctions.

Iran also demanded the release of frozen Iranian assets held overseas.

Iranian parliament speaker and senior negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf insisted that Washington would eventually need to recognise Iran’s conditions.

“There is no alternative but to accept the rights of the Iranian people as laid out in the 14-point proposal. Any other approach will be completely inconclusive; nothing but one failure after another,” Ghalibaf wrote on X.

“The longer they drag their feet, the more American taxpayers will pay for it,” he added.

US-Iran War Latest News: Iran Conducts Military Drills Despite Ongoing Talks

Even though both countries continue diplomatic discussions, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps carried out military exercises in Tehran on Tuesday.

Iranian officials said the drills aimed to strengthen readiness against what they described as the “American-Zionist enemy”.

Security analysts believe neither side currently wants a return to full-scale war, but the aggressive rhetoric and military preparations continue to increase tensions across the region.

US-Iran War Latest News: Ordinary Iranians Face Fear and Uncertainty

As political leaders exchange warnings, many civilians in Iran say they are struggling with uncertainty and fear over the future.

“We are just trying to dig our nails into anything that could help us survive. The future is so uncertain, and we are just living day to day,” Maryam, a 43-year-old painter from Tehran, told Paris-based journalists.

“We are trying to find a way to continue. Keeping hope is very difficult right now.”

The continuing crisis has affected daily life in Iran, with economic pressure, rising prices and fears of renewed fighting creating anxiety among ordinary citizens.
